Procedure for car rentals

You should deposit the sum corresponding to the daily car rental in the Havanainside bank account. This deposit should be done 10 days, as minimum, before your request, and informed right away to the Reservations Executive, sales@Havanainside.com, who will take care of your request and will guarantee your can rental, for the date and pickup hour you have agreed upon in the form.

On your arrival to Cuba, make your official contact directly with the rent a car agency, where you will pay the additional costs that are not included in the rental price that you will read further on. As soon as you arrive, Havanainside will give you a bill accrediting in the agency that you have already paid the sum for a daily car rental.

How many car rental possibilities can I ask for?

You may select two types of contracts:

1-Service with unlimited kilometers: this enables you to run the distance you desire, paying the quantity of gas you consume in your trips.

2-Limited kilometers: it should be adapted to the quantity of kilometers assigned by the agency, taking into account the payment you had already made. In case you exceed the assigned quantity, you should pay the extra charges that depend on the exceeded kilometers.

What includes the car rental payment?

The rental process only includes the payment for the days you wish to rent. You must know the prices established for each car, and the price of the extra charges for those applying for the service with limited distance in kilometers.

What is not included in the car rental payment?

You should pay an additional fee to the car rental office, which includes:

-Car insurance policy: if you don´t have a driving license, you have drunk alcoholic beverages or drugs, you will not have the right to be indemnified by the insurance policy. See here the cost of the insurance of the car you selected.

-Guarantee deposit: this deposit will be given to you at the end of the contract and car drop-off, in case it has not suffered any damage. See here the prices of the guarantee deposit.

-Cost of the first gas tank together with the car.

What does the insurance policy cover?

-It covers accidents of all types, in case they are not responsibility of the tenants. In the cases in which the accidents were responsibility of the tenant, he should pay an extra sum of money that may amount up to $350 USD. It will be indispensable to present the report to the police in the rent a car agency, thus making valid the right which the insurance policy grants you.

-Total theft with key in hand . If there is no key, the theft will not be covered by the insurance.

-Damage to others.

Cuban driving regulations

-The minimum age for driving is 21 years.

-In Cuba we drive on the right hand side, and the transit signals are the same as the international code.

-In the Cuban roads driving at more than 100 km/hr is rarely allowed.

-For precaution, the use of the safety belt is recommended.

-Keep the car in an illuminated and safe place, and always put away your belongings before returning it, because in such a case we cannot assure the devolution of your goods.

-Demand the car revision and accessories when receiving and returning the vehicle.

Additional information

-The drop-offs of the rented car in another Cuban city implies the payment of an additional fee.

-In case the car would be driven by more than one driver, 10 USD should be paid for each extra driver in order to acquire legal circulation.

Transfers

So that you may have the guarantee of traveling from one place to another of the island, Havanainside offers transfers. Our service not only includes transfers´ booking, but the safety of its disposal at the time and moment you require.

1-Unique transfers by air-conditioned taxis for 1 to 2 persons, and driven by English speaking drivers, besides Spanish.

2-Unique transfers for groups: We offer minibus rental service (for 3 to 6 persons), microbus (for 7 to 13 persons), and bus (for 14 to 40 persons). These transfers are changed according to the schedule and interests of the group.

3-Collective bus transfer of Havanainside to Varadero: These buses have the peculiarity of being cheaper because they will pick you up at your hotel in La Habana and will leave you in the Varadero hotel you are going to stay. Take into account that this bus could spend more time in its tour, because since it is a collective service it collects and takes to the hotel of destination each of the passengers that had asked for the service.

Price: $25 USD per person

4-Ticket rentals on Via Azul Bus to the most important cities of Cuba. Within the payment of the ticket you ask our agency, a 10 per cent charge will be included in assuring your bus rental.
